  • Fragile or thin nails: This kind of nail is also called egg shell nails as they break easily like the shell of an egg. As soon as nail reaches on the tip of finger it curves and breaks away. The reason behind this kind of disorder is improper diet and side effects of harsh chemicals. Treatment: The best treatment for this kind of nail condition is to trim the nails and never allow them to grow beyond the finger tip. However, if nail condition occurs due to consumption of medicine, stop the medicine and ask doctor to substitute with some other medicine.

  • Furrows: Furrows are long strips that runs across the nails. It occurs as a result of improper blood circulation, frost bite and inadequate intake of zinc in daily diet. If left unattended the stripes might go deeper. Treatment: You can hide these ridges by buffing or using any good quality ridge filler.

  • Hangnails: Medically it is also known as agnails. This condition is contributed by dry cuticles. When cuticles are cut loose it also contributes to hang nails.

  • Treatment: The best treatment for this nail condition is to trim hanging skin from time to tome. Regular application of cuticle oil can also help in dealing with this nail problem effectively.

  • Ingrown nails: This nail condition is also known as onychocryptosis where nail starts growing on sides of skin. Wearing improper shoes for prolonged time or filing nails in wrong way contributes to this problem.

  • Treatment: The best treatment for this kind of nail problem is to consult a doctor who will remove the nail and follow the instructions accordingly.
